cover the cost of installing an efficient gas fire or gas heater, and decommissioning,

How to apply
Four steps to having your damaged chimney assessed and a clean, efficient
- Lodge a claim with the Earthquake Commission.
- You will be contacted by the Energy Efficiency Conservation Authority (EECA).
- EECA will send an approved builder to come and assess the property. If the chimney is damaged then the homeowner has the choice of having the chimney decommissioned and a new heater installed.
- EECA will arrange for an approved tradesperson to carry out the work.
