How to apply

Four steps to having your damaged chimney assessed and a clean, efficient
heater installed.

  1. Lodge a claim with the Earthquake Commission.
  2. You will be contacted by the Energy Efficiency Conservation Authority (EECA).
  3. EECA will send an approved builder to come and assess the property. If the chimney is damaged then the homeowner has the choice of having the chimney decommissioned and a new heater installed.
  4. EECA will arrange for an approved tradesperson to carry out the work.

For more information on what heaters and damaged chimneys qualify,
refer to EECA FAQ’s.
