Creating Your Fireplace

Rinnai inbuilt fires can be installed into new, existing or mock fireplaces, so just about any room can have one.

Installing into an existing fireplace

The Rinnai Arriva, Lumina, Radius and Compact fires can be installed into existing fireplaces as long as the fireplace is large enough to accommodate the gas fire.

Check the specifications of the fire of your choice to ensure that the height, depth and width of your fireplace can accommodate the model you select. In some cases, if your fireplace is too small it can be remodeled to fit the fire.

It is also important to consider the draw and soundness of your chimney as this will affect the performance of your Rinnai fire. To ensure this is adequate, we recommend using a Rinnai Flexiliner Flue system.

Installing into a new fireplace

Building a fireplace to accommodate your Rinnai fire can be straightforward with integrated Zero Clearance Boxes . These fireproof units isolate combustible materials from the fire. This means you can create an inexpensive fireplace almost anywhere by creating a mock fireplace and lined chimney breast against an existing internal wall.

Fireplace Clearances

The appliance must not be installed where curtains or other combustible materials could come into contact with it. In some cases curtains may need restraining. Check our Product Installation Guides for installation clearances.
