Can I run my appliances on bottled LPG or Natural Gas? ABSOLUTELY
Most Rinnai Gas Appliances are available in LPG or Natural Gas variants and perform with equal efficiency. However the appliances are physically different in the way they work so you will need to have them 'converted' if you switch your gas supply from LPG to Natural Gas or vice versa.
Not all appliances can be converted, so if you are considering changing your gas supply contact us about converting your appliances.
Can I be connected to Gas? YES.
Bottled LPG is available practically everywhere in New Zealand from a local LPG provider. Natural Gas is available where there is access to a Natural Gas pipeline - most towns and cities throughout the North Island.

How does the LPG system work?
Usually LPG gas is delivered to your home via gas bottles and tanks. When one cylinder runs out a regulator automatically switches over to the full cylinder next to it. To ensure you never run out of LPG gas, the gas company regularly replaces or refills the cylinders based on your average normal use.
Is Gas Safe? YES.
Gas is a natural and stable fuel which you can rely on for all your home energy requirements.
PLUS Rinnai is a member of the Gas Appliance Suppliers Association "Gas Safe" programme. All Rinnai gas appliances carry the "Gas Safe" logo - your assurance that your appliances are compliant with NZ safety requirements, meeting all the safety criteria set down by the Gas Appliance Suppliers Association.
Remember though, it is essential that all gas installation work is undertaken by a registered gas fitter, who will supply a certificate verifying the work on completion.
Are our gas supplies running out? NO.
New Zealand already has numerous natural gas fields capable of supplying our future residential needs. Other discoveries are continuing to be developed to come online in the near future.
And on top of this, large international petrochemical companies, are continuing to invest in New Zealand undertaking further exploration and development programmes.
