It's easy for companies to pay lip-service to innovation and technological development, but in truth many companies are more concerned with producing 'me-too' products.
That's not Rinnai's style.
Every year Rinnai makes a huge investment into technological research and development of new leading-edge gas appliances. The result of this can be seen in many of our market leading products which have raised the industry standard - with innovative technology producing real benefits for consumers.

Rinnai's unique Power-Flue technology in our Energy Saver Heaters has produced a heater that takes gas heating performance and efficiency to new levels. Unlike ordinary flueing and venting systems which rely on naturally occurring draft and air flow dynamics, The Power Flue's flueing and venting systems are propelled by an electronically controlled fan. This means that the Energy Saver models can be used almost anywhere in the home, regardless of normal draft restrictions. It also ensures that a maximum amount of gas energy is utilised for heating and room air is cleaner.

Rinnai Electronic Timer Remotes on our Timberflame Fires allow you to enjoy the warmth and magic of a flame fire - without any of the hassle. Turn it up, turn it down, all at the touch of a button on your remote control.

Rinnai Digital Remote Bathfill Controllers - give you a glimpse of the future - today. Set the controller to fill the bath to the desired level and temperature and walk away. When your bath is ready, the controller turns off the taps and sounds a message on your Rinnai Infinity Digital Controllers around the house.
Rinnai Gas Clothes Dryers utilise gas technology to bring real consumer benefits including speed, gentleness with clothes and efficiency.
Looking into the future?
Internationally, under the Kyoto Agreement, there is agreement not only to create greater energy efficiencies, but also to seek out and utilize alternative energy sources. Rinnai embraces this and is actively working on many fronts to create user-friendly gas appliances that are also planet-friendly. These include:
- Condensing Hot Water Systems (both boilers and continuous flow) which draw heat energy out of the flue gases, resulting in lower running costs, reduced carbon emissions and better energy utilization.
- Solar Hot Water Systems are an option that many governments and nations, including New Zealand, are pursuing. Rinnai is investigating how gas technology can assist solar power efficiencies.
- Kombi Systems which deliver hot water supply and zone controlled heating from one appliance offer a number of advantages. They occupy less space, have a lower cost to purchase and installation efficiencies.
- Gas Heat Pump technology utilises gas efficiencies to produce warm & cool air.
- Fuel Cells are the leading edge in energy technology. Rinnai are investigating synergies and gas technologies to provide domestic energy solutions.
- MicroGeneration utilises gas water heating to generate domestic electrical supply.
