Ngaire and Neville
Rinnai Infinity 24 - LPG
After years of putting up with a leaky hot water cylinder inconveniently located in their kitchen, Ngaire and Neville were almost thankful when the old girl finally gave up the ghost.
"It was a 'brilliant' piece of ex-state home design," says Ngaire. "The hot water cylinder was planted right between the bench and the fridge. We certainly didn't want to put a new cylinder in there and there wasn't any room for one elsewhere in the house. I liked the idea of having gas heated hot water, so I called a gas fitter and he sorted us out with a Rinnai Infinity 24. It sits on the outside of the house, so it doesn't take up any room, and now we've got more space in the kitchen."
The Rinnai Infinity 24 was chosen as the best model to meet the family's requirements. The house has one bathroom, so there isn't the same demand for simultaneous hot water supply as a house with two or more bathrooms.
Eventually Ngaire and Neville want to do a major renovation on the house and reticulate it with gas.
"When we win Lotto!" says Ngaire. "But in the meantime with the Infinity system running off LPG, we can still have gas heated hot water. There are two 45kg gas bottles that sit outside the house and we get through one bottle every two months. When one bottle runs out the supply automatically switches over to the other bottle. Then we just give the gas supplier a call and they deliver a fresh bottle."
After three years of long hot showers and kids' baths Ngaire and Neville are very happy with the decision to install the Rinnai Infinity system.
"Neville is unable to spend less than 20 minutes in the shower!" laughs Ngaire. "It used to drive me crazy, but now at least I know that the hot water isn't going to run out!"
